Book Worms 🧒👧📚

AboutHer strongly believes in inculcating the habit of reading, especially in children. The idea, as they say, is to catch them young. Though many parents feel this way, somehow, they cannot persuade their children to read. One of the main reasons for this, I think, is parents imposing their choices on children. They do this with good intentions but without considering the children’s interests. Therefore I feel one of the things parents should do is let children decide and choose what they want to read. They may not start by picking up literary wonders, but the idea is to build up the interest. So take them to bookstores and let them run loose and choose. To facilitate this effort, AboutHer is starting a new section called ‘Book Worms’, which will feature books, book reviews, reading lists for children. It’s a space where children can come forward with their book choices. They can write about them; they can pose with them and in the process inspire and get inspired.

So children, welcome to this Book Club created just for you. Let’s make it a fun place where you get to learn about books, authors, genres and meet other children with similar tastes. Feel free to get in touch and share news and views.
