7 Places for Christmas shopping in Delhi

It is that time of the year when Christmas is around the corner, and we are all getting ready to set up our Christmas trees, bake cakes and enjoy the mulled wine.

So how do we decorate our homes in the most Christmassy way? Where do we go for our Christmas shopping?

If in Delhi -NCR, you could check out these places for your Christmas decorations; trees, bells, fairy lights and gifts.

These are places that I love to visit every year for my Christmas shopping.

1. Kriti Creations

Come festival time, and one of the stores that I make sure to visit is Kriti Creations. Whether it is Diwali, Holi or Christmas, they are always well-stocked with the festival appropriate trinkets and decorative items. For Christmas, they have fabulous trees, Santa hats, stockings, trinkets, fairy lights and all kinds of décor for you. They have several stores in Gurgaon, Khan Market, Select City Walk and the Mall of India.

2. Sadar Bazaar

A marketplace that celebrates all festivals with equal cheer and enthusiasm. If you are looking for Christmas decorations within a reasonable budget, this is the place to go. I feel it is the best place for a Christmas tree. They have trees of all sizes, from miniature ones to almost thirty feet high ones. Though I can’t go there every year, the few times that I have been there, it’s been a memorable experience. 

3. INA Market

Visit the market to soak yourself in the Christmas cheer. Right opposite Dilli Haat, you will find roadside stalls and shops stocked up with Christmas trees, decorations and small gift items. The spirit of the festival can cheer up anyone. I have been visiting it for the last many years, especially since it is on my way back from work.

4. Hamleys

A unique feature of this store is the Christmas themed toys which can be any child’s delight. The grown-ups can also have a great time feasting their eyes on the toys and the joy on the children’s faces. So if you are looking for toys, gifts for the children in your family, this is the place to visit. You can also choose from a wide variety of decorations and lights.

5. The wishing chair

A store that I usually visit to pick up quirky, eclectic items. They have a fantastic collection of Crirtmasy things from ornaments to mugs to lights, tree hangings, books, cards and other unusual Christmas decorations. Though I usually visit the Gurgaon store, they are located in Delhi as well.

6. Wanna Party

If you are looking for some latest, trendy stuff, head to this store; they too have some unusual things like funny Christmas banners, cool props, great ornaments, candy cane hangings and even reindeer hangings. They even have Christmas cutlery and headbands for you to soak in the festive spirit. They, too, have a presence in Delhi and Gurgaon.

7. Archies

The store with a pop of nostalgia. This is a store that I remember visiting as a child and picking up small little items like cards, gifts and decorative items. It has been there for almost forty years and is still an excellent place for your Christmas decorations.
